The Role

We’re looking for a committed and experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in fire safety and asbestos compliance to join our Compliance & Estates team.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained for our residents, in line with statutory requirements and Eastlight’s policies.

About the role

This is a key position overseeing the delivery of contracts relating to fire safety and asbestos management.

You’ll be responsible for managing contractor performance, ensuring high-quality delivery of safety-critical works, and maintaining a customer-first approach.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading and managing contracts related to fire safety systems (e.g., alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors) and asbestos surveys, removals, and re-inspections.
  • Monitoring compliance with statutory duties, industry best practice, and internal policies.
  • Managing programmes and budgets effectively, ensuring works are delivered on time, on cost, and to specification.
  • Carrying out robust contract management, including performance reviews, monitoring KPIs, and commercial negotiations.
  • Supporting audit activity, health and safety inspections, and continuous service improvement.

About you

You’ll bring experience of managing compliance-focused contracts in a social housing or similar environment, with specific expertise in fire safety and asbestos disciplines.

You’ll also have:

A sound knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, and the Building Safety Act 2022.

Proven skills in contractor management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.

The ability to analyse data, produce clear reports, and make evidence-based decisions.

A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent organisational and communication skills.

Hold a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use or the ability to travel across the region.

Qualifications relevant to the role would be desirable, such as:

  • NEBOSH certificate in fire safety
  • Asbestos duty to manage and/or P405 Management of Asbestos in buildings
  • Contract management qualification, such as World Commerce & Contracting

Benefits and Compensation
